MaxVac Medical Grade Air Purifier Proven to Remove Covid-19

MAXVAC Medi® Range Series Air Purifiers have been proven in an independent study by the renowned research hospital of Addenbrookes, Cambridge to effectively remove Covid-19 and other microbial bioaerosols from the environment, preventing the spread of infectious diseases and viruses.

The study was conducted in two repurposed COVID-19 units in Addenbrooke Hospital. It ran for three weeks with the aim of comparing the amount of SARS-CoV-2 RNA detected with and without the use of the Medi® 10 HEPA13/UV steriliser.

During the first week, whilst the air filter was inactive, SARS-CoV-2 RNA was detected in the air samples on all five days. The air filter was then switched on in week two and run continuously resulting in SARS-CoV-2 RNA not being detected in any of the air samples on any of the five testing days. To confirm this result, the air purifier was switched off again in the third week, during which SARS-CoV-2 RNA returned and was detected in all air samples. Unlike previous laboratory studies, this represents the first study to be conducted in a working hospital environment to demonstrate the successful removal of airborne SARS-CoV-2 using combined HEPA air filtration and UV sterilisation technology.

The key to the success of the Medi® has been a combination of science and engineering. The science was to refine a sequence of filters and UV-C light that could trap and kill the virus. This was achieved by developing high flow Alpaire® HEPA filters and advanced Steribreeze® UV-C technology to clean air fast.

The combination HEPA and UV-C technology and the success of this study confirm the MAXVAC® Medi 10 range to be a quick and easy, trusted solution for hospitals, healthcare, medical centres and aged care facilities.
